On Feb 9, Pete headlined at the Splash in downtown Sacramento. A 21 and over club, and damned swanky at that! Go ahead, check out some of those pictures in their gallery. I dare you.
In March, PETE got to work on a fun video for Target. You may have even seen it on TV. His role was video editor, songwriter, music producer, background vocalist (all parts), recording engineer, and musician (played all instruments).
Lead Vocals: Kristen McNamara (KMAC) – Art Director: Suzy …Weber – Director of Photography: Richard Hall
PETE is like a third DJ on Rob and Joss in the morning on 92.9 Froggy. Here’s a little video they made for the Rob and Joss ‘Like’ page on Facebook. (i hope you can view it)
To close out March with a bang, PETE was asked to speak at TEDxSanJoseCA. On March 26th, PETE got up in front of sold out crowd (sold out for months) and spoke about his life, from babyhood til present. He even debuted a new song, and as usual, it sounds great. I can’t seem to embed anything from ustream, so you’ll have to just click the link. Sorry.
“Here’s the short movie/trailer I created for “The Majestic Kid” theater production. The show just ended this weekend so now I can share with everyone! I’m really happy with how it turned out (filmed it in my video suite). Steven David Martin wrote the script and nails the part of Dusty. I play the role of Slim. Click on the link below to watch. Hope y’all like it!!”
We’ll only being going back so far in the time machine. Because really, it’s been quite a long while.
On October 3rd 2010, Pete and two of his stringtones, Chops and Guns, performed at the famous Bluebird Cafe here in Nashville, TN. The place was packed! I was lucky enough to score a couple of seats to this fantastic show. I was also the designated photographer.
As usual Pete and his stringtones had the place jumping. A little country music, a little beat box, a little helicopter flying the room… Pete had it all covered and the crowd was loving it. I think the song everyone related to and had the most fun with was ‘Don Juan’, if you’re going to make fun of yourself you may as well have a good time doing it.
That’s right, October 24th of 2010 Pete opened for none other than the incredible Randy Travis. Can you imagine?! (picture coming soon)
November 1st 2010: Pete takes to film in ‘Death or Taxes‘, the winner of three awards in 2010 and three in 2011. Pete portrays an IRS agent. The IRS’s motto: “Guilty until YOU can prove yourself innocent”.
After film Pete hopped over to TV with “I (Almost) Got Away With It” which premiered November 23rd 2010. Apparently you can watch a free preview on Amazon.com or buy the whole episode for $1.99.
December 12th, Pete Twitters: “Get to hang with the Judds tonight. Yeah, I’m excited. ” How lucky can one guy be?!
Next up on his list of ‘Awesome Things I’ve Done’ is opening for Clint Black. Ya, you read that right… CLINT BLACK!
December 16th 2010 Pete and the Stringtones opened for Clint Black at the Uptown Theater Napa in California. As per usual, the WOW’d the crowd!
We’ve headed right to the holiday season!
Since Pete is the creative type (such an inadequate word for him), he makes his own holiday cards.
And that is it for 2010! Later I’ll be bring you up-to-date on 2011 and then continue to keep you updated. Pete has some exciting things in the works. Stay tuned!
It seems to be taking me forever to read this book, not because it’s long or a hard read, but because I have had so many other distractions. I am, however, just over halfway through and finding it hilarious. I have actually found myself laughing out loud.
If you have yet to buy this book I suggest you head on over to Amazon.com and get yourself a copy (book, kindle, other formats available). Rob Kroese (author) has just lowered the price to an amazing $1.99 over at Smashwords!!
You can find out more about this amazing book over at the Mercury Falls website, there you can connect with the author via Goodreads, Facebook and Twitter. You can become one of the many fans of Mercury Falls on Facebook (it has it’s own page!).
And finally, last Sunday (11/15/09) Rob was on Good Day Sacrament0 being interviewed about his book. You can watch the interview on the Mercury Falls site as well as his blog Mattress Police (where he started out).
Oh! And he’s been doing blog tours, they’re almost at an end though. You can read all about them at the Mattress Police blog.
I just received my copy of Mercury Falls by Rob Kroese, the same guy that authored the site mattresspolice.com (funny site!). I haven’t been able to sit down and put in some quality reading time yet, but what I have read is pretty funny.
If you’d like your own copy head on over to Amazon.com, Mercury Falls is available in paperback and on Kindle. And I’ve heard whispers about a PDF version coming available.
I’ll be giving a complete review of Mercury Falls and possibly an interview with the author. Stay tuned!
